The Millenary Oaks Reservation – Tourist Attraction – Breit Reservation, on the Breite Plateau near Sighisoara, is the largest, representative and well – preserved habitat of meadows and oaks (Querqus petraea and Querqus robur species) in Central and Eastern Europe.
By its origin, the Breite Plateau is a culturally modified forest, bearing both the imprint of Saxon local culture for over eight centuries, as well as a rich and varied nature.
This dual origin gives the Breite Reservation multiple exceptional values - from historical, cultural and ecological to esthetic and emotional.
Both in terms of natural heritage and as a living testimony of the history of Sighisoara, Breite represents a unique value in Europe.
The history of the plateau is changing in the modern age, when the impressive celebrations begin to take place at the end of spring or early summer.
The warm season of the year began with a celebration that managed to anime the entire city: “Scopationfest”. This was a spring celebration organized annually by the local schools.
